DIFFICULT TIMES IN LIBYA

It was difficult times in Libya especially after beginning of 2014. There was one government in east and another government in west of the country. Police and army was too busy with civil conflicts. The control in cities and towns was captured by local groups.

I was working as a site manager of EPC company and i was the most senior employee of Company when i had some difficult moments in 2014. One local group threatened me to make all purchase of Company through them. But i did not listen them and i ordered to rent a few machineries from other suppliers. When the machinery arrived site, that local group attacked the construction site with AK-47 guns and RPG rocket...

I do not forget the eyes of my admin chief when he entered my room and suggested me not to go outside. I saw the fear in his eyes. But it was not logical for me to stay in room and let something happen to Company employees.

I went outside, someone approached to me and hold the AK-47 gun on my face and wanted me to kneel. I guess, i was too proud that time so i did not kneel while i was thinking about life and death in that short moment. After a few minutes, another man brought RPG rocket. And i again showed them that i do not afraid from them and i tried to handle situation with my courage. After a while, all group left our construction site while shooting to air.

I learned a lot from that day. Such difficult moment make people more strong. I did not let any of my friends got injured. Because i was brave to protect my friends, they respected me so much and they did not leave the project and Company.
